TxDOT: Loop 1604, I-10 overnight closures planned this weekend
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — You should expect overnight closures at the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange this weekend as TxDOT crews continue the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project.
Closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, through Monday, Sept. 14, weather permitting.
The closures will affect eastbound Loop 1604 mainlanes, both directions of I-10 mainlanes, and both I-10 frontage roads at the interchange.
All flyover ramps will remain open, but drivers should follow posted detour signs.
Eastbound Loop 1604 drivers will exit before I-10, use the frontage road through the interchange and re-enter the mainlanes at the first available entrance ramp.
Drivers on I-10 will be detoured through Loop 1604 using designated flyovers, frontage roads and U-turns before reconnecting with I-10.
Drivers using the I-10 frontage roads will also be routed through Loop 1604 with turnarounds at La Cantera Parkway or Vance Jackson Road, depending on direction.
TxDOT advises drivers to allow extra time and use caution in the work zone.
