Honoring Hispanic and Latin Culture in Multnomah County
PORTLAND, Ore. — Next week Multnomah County is honoring Hispanic and Latinx community members, at a time when many are saying they’re worried about racial profiling. Diego Bazaba works for the Multnomah County Health Department. He says there’s still a lot of fear about deportations and family separations.
“When families question whether it is safe to go to work, send a child to school, seek medical care, appear in court, report a crime, or access public services, the wellbeing of our entire community is affected.”
